Introducing the Pups: The Story Behind My Christmas Tale and Where to Find the Adventures

One thing you may not know about me is that I am the proud owner of three Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and a Labradoodle. They are my sidekicks, shadows, coworkers, and best friends. Last year, when I went to create a story for Christmas, my dogs inspired me.

With my watercolor and pen illustration, I drew a cute Christmas dog story for Christmas time. But first, before I show you the stories, I would like to introduce you to some of my dogs in the story.

Sadie - All photos are copyrighted. ~ Daphsam Photography

Sadie is my oldest Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, at 12 years old. She is very independent and loves playing with her tennis ball. No one would think she is 12 years old; she is very active and still an athlete to this day.

Lady - All photos are copyrighted. ~ Daphsam Photography

Lady is my 8-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She is a very sweet dog who spends her days sleeping and being curious about her surroundings.

Tiger - All photos are copyrighted. ~ Daphsam Photography

Tiger is my other 12-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She loves to sleep all day, but given the chance, she will run around like a young puppy.

Duke All photos are copyrighted. ~ Daphsam Photography

Duke is my 9-year-old Labradoodle. He is my very best friend! Duke follows me everywhere and loves to play with his toys. He is silly and gets in trouble when he does his table surfing. Duke has had a lot of health issues in the past and is one complicated Labradoodle. If you would like to learn more about him, "A Complicated Labradoodle And Proud of It!" will give you insight the health issues he faces.

Isabella- All photos are copyrighted. ~ Daphsam Photography

Isabella was my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who lived a very long life until she was 15 years old. Let me tell you that for a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who had heart disease, that was a huge accomplishment. She was very sweet.

Fiona and Horatio- All photos are copyrighted. ~ Daphsam Photography

Horatio was my Mother's Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who lived until he was 10 years old. He was a charming dog who loved to sleep in my Mother's lap.

Fiona was also my Mother's Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who lived until she was 8 years old. Fiona had a difficult life with heart problems but enjoyed walks outside with my Mom and playing with her toys.

Maximus- All photos are copyrighted. ~ Daphsam Photography

Maximus was my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who lived until he was 10 years old. He was a lovable, very loyal dog who sadly developed a spinal disease called Degenerative myelopathy. He became paralyzed and spent the last months of his life in a wheelchair. He was the love of my life. If you would like to read more about what our journey was like with Maximus, "Maximus, My Little Warrior In The End", will take you through our heartbreaking diagnosis and how he taught us all to persevere.

As you can see, I love my dogs. Each one was special in its own way, and I wanted to do them justice in writing a story about how they all came together to celebrate Christmas.

As Robert Wagner says, "A dog will teach you unconditional love. If you have that in your life, things won't be too hard.

"If you are feeling down, look to a dog for a smile"~ Daphsam

"A dog will walk silently by your side, giving you unconditional support" ~ Daphsam

"Who needs Christmas when a spending time with a dog is gift enough?"~ Daphsam

"Christmas is about making sure your dog doesn't tear into the stockings before you do!" ~ Daphsam

Let me whisk you away to Pawhill, a charming world where the dogs are abuzz with excitement, preparing for their grand Christmas party!

And one more story that features just Sadie. This micro fictional story showcases Sadie's athletic ability, which is not a trait in Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Here is a story about Sadie with her tennis ball in the snow!
